It was a one year old birthday and the theme was Mickey Mouse,one of the most famous among birthday kids. The venue was a typical Apulian country style restaurant , very cozy but too much serious and adult, so we used Mickey’s  color and  tenderness to give a worm welcome to Mario, the birthday little boy.

Let’s start with walls: lots of garlands! We used raw cord and cartoon to realize handmade garlands. We attacked child’s pictures, showing the very important days of his growth, on the Mickey Mouse head shaped festoons. Two different garlands with 24 pictures, 12 pictures for each one. The other garland was a classical one: “Happy birthday Mario” written on colorful shapes  of glove, head, shoe and shorts. Furthermore two vertical garland hanging to the lamp in the middle of the ceiling.

We absolutely cared about giving  nice party favors to the guests making little bags closed with funny tag and containing fine handmade milk chocolates  . For little guests we designed little red and yellow hats with cute black ears: they were really perfect for taking nice pictures. On the tables we put a party favor as a placeholder for each seat and the handmade pinwheels as centerpieces.

On the cake table we put various sizes glass jars containing the leftover party favors and bulk chocolates. On the other side of the table we placed fake Mikey mouse pops and red and yellow Tags in other jars. The birthday cake was amazing: double floor chocolate cake covered with  Mickey mouse drawn sugar plate. Another Mickey Mouse garland tied to the table and gas balloon completed the cake place.

In planning and designing this kind of event we take inspiration from website like pinterest or etsy where you can find nice pictures and useful template, but of course we personalize with our own taste. In this case for instance we used materials like brown packing paper, wood and raw cord because all of them perfectly matched with rustic style of the venue.
